Art

This term we did some art. We got to chose what we did the art on but it had to be on a sport. I choose League because it's one of my main sports I also did another one but it's not done. It's also on league but it's a kicking one. I don't normally like doing art but this here was cool because we got to do it on a sport we like. I also got to learn how to blend using pastel. Here is my artwork

Task one of paint in the city

Today my class did literacy, this was a really easy task. I found all the questions easy except number two, number two was the hardest because you had to go to page eleven and try to think about what it's trying to tell us. The easiest was the number four "would this work make people happy" and said yes if I was doing it.

self portrait

For the last couple of weeks, I have been working on our self-portraits. We are doing these self-portraits because of the class waka and we are working on then we will print out our self-portraits then stick them on the waka with our paddles we designed. And that photo was mine.

making puha

This WALT make cardboard Puha and eels for our Christmas float. This week we have been doing art for our Christmas float and we did it off the song pukeko in a ponga tree. And each class had something to do and we had the eight puha trees and the seven eels. We haven't finished our eels yet but we have done our Puha's. I really enjoyed this because we got to cut them out with craft knives. I found this challenging because it took a long time to cut them out.

Dick Frizzell's art

Today Ngahere is learning about Dick Frizzell. We are learning about him because he is a New Zealand artist and for Paroa schools Kiwiana Christmas parade. We are doing Dick Frizzell's pukeko in a ponga tree illustration. Then I had too choose my favourite artwork of him and paint it myself.
I enjoyed painting it because I was allowed to add lots of bright colour.
I found it challenging trying to figure out what painting I should choose and what colours to mix to make other colours.

We have been learning about Matariki. My class read the book about the 7 Matariki stars and we did a story map about the 7 Matariki stars. We did maths stars too. My favorite learning thing I have done is maths stars.
