Location
The small island in the pacific ocean off mainland Asia. Made up of 6,900 islands which about the 11th largest population in the world. Tokyo was known as Edo a small castle town in the 16th century. Edo became Japan’s political center in 1603 when Tokugawa Ieyasu established his feudal government there.
Edo was renamed Tokyo. Japan is made up of 6,900 islands but not all of them have people living on them. Although Japan is small it has the 11th largest population in the world.

Japan plays sports such as Sumo, Kendo, Judo, Yabusame, Aikido and Karate.

The population of Japan on the 1st of September was 125,838,814 and the next day it was 125,813 so that means that one person died than was born.
Culture and tradition
Tokyo offers a seemingly unlimited choice of shopping. Tokyo also offers a number of attractive green spaces in the city center. Large parts of Tokyo were destroyed in the great Kanto earthquake in 1923 and also got destroyed it the air raids in 1945 22 years later. Early Japanese culture was influenced by China.
The Japanese Archipelago had been inhabited for at least 30,000 years. From the 6th to the 8th century it was one of the greatest exchanges between the Yamato court. About a hundred years or so years ago after the foundation of Kyoto, the court stooped its practice of sending emissaries to China. Edo was a small place with no people in it, but then a thew decades later Edo had grown into one of the most populated places in the world. There was, and still is a little fishing village in Edo that has been there for centuries.
