India research

For the last two weeks, I have been doing an inquiry which is about you chose a country and working on it and getting all the facts, time, population, and when it was discovered. I really liked doing this because you get to learn more about the place you chose. What I didn't really like was typing it all into one slide and then into another slide. I chose this country because I thought it would be interesting to do.

Inquiry

Today when the year sevens left to go to tech the year six's did an inquiry which is about how people get forced to get moved to refugee camps that are overpopulated. Some of them lost eachover from going there because they get bombed. One family lost their parents and their seven-year-old sister. Some of them are staying at their houses for as long as they can. What I liked about doing this was researching and looking at photos of the place because I didn't know it was so bad. What I didn't like about doing this was that you had to write it all down because it took so long to write it all down.

Japanese writing

Japan is a small island nation with a large population. It’s well known for its bustling cities and its specific fashion crazes.

Location

The small island in the pacific ocean off mainland Asia. Made up of 6,900 islands which about the 11th largest population in the world. Tokyo was known as Edo a small castle town in the 16th century. Edo became Japan’s political center in 1603 when Tokugawa Ieyasu established his feudal government there.

Edo was renamed Tokyo. Japan is made up of 6,900 islands but not all of them have people living on them. Although Japan is small it has the 11th largest population in the world.

Japanese sports

Japan plays sports such as Sumo, Kendo, Judo, Yabusame, Aikido and Karate.

Japans population

The population of Japan on the 1st of September was 125,838,814 and the next day it was 125,813 so that means that one person died than was born.

Culture and tradition

Tokyo offers a seemingly unlimited choice of shopping. Tokyo also offers a number of attractive green spaces in the city center. Large parts of Tokyo were destroyed in the great Kanto earthquake in 1923 and also got destroyed it the air raids in 1945 22 years later. Early Japanese culture was influenced by China.

The Japanese Archipelago had been inhabited for at least 30,000 years. From the 6th to the 8th century it was one of the greatest exchanges between the Yamato court. About a hundred years or so years ago after the foundation of Kyoto, the court stooped its practice of sending emissaries to China. Edo was a small place with no people in it, but then a thew decades later Edo had grown into one of the most populated places in the world. There was, and still is a little fishing village in Edo that has been there for centuries.

The wind singer

What I liked about doing this was doing the front because you get to think about what is going to happen from the front of the book. What I didn't like about doing this was writing it all down and then needing to do a blog post about it.

Currents and Voltage

Today in my class we did stuff about currents and voltages with a little electricity set, we had three boxes of the kit. The teacher split us into groups of 7 and one group of 6. Current is the way that electrons move through the circuit to make the whole circuit work. The voltage is the force that makes the circuit work a low numbered voltage will not have that much power as high numbered voltage. The higher the number is the more power so say I had a high number like 10 volts it would have a lot of light. But id I had a low number like 1 it wouldn't have as much light as the 10 volts did. I found out my results by doing the work and writing it down. the predictions I made were for 0V was not going to work and it didn't work, with 3V it's going to have a bit of power in it, with 6V I though it was going to have a lot of power and it did.

My speech

Why sport is important

For the past two week we have been doing speeches and this is my speech about why sport is important. Hope you like it.

Hi, my name is Kohen and I’m going to tell you about why I think sport is important.

So to start off did you know that sport is important in your life? No, you probably didn’t and that’s why I am here to tell you why sport is important!

So to start off, I think sport is fun, well actually depending on what sport you play though.

I play a lot of different sports, like league, rugby, basketball, tennis, and hockey. These are team sports, and that why I like them but some people don’t like team sports, they would rather sports that are played by themselves for example, golf and biking.

In some sports, they can get a bit competitive like league and rugby. These sports are contact sport, where you have to tackle. If you get hurt sometimes you get angry and take it out of other people and hurt them but with other sports like tennis, you can’t go do anything to them because there is a net in the middle of the court.

Sports can help people in a lot of different ways. For example, reaching your fitness goals. Sport can also help, as people like to play it for socializing with their friends and teammates.

think sport is good for your body even just one sport is good because it helps your muscles and it wakes you up, and with children, it helps you out for healthy life for when you older.

When you play sport you learn many skills like working together in a team, ball skills, and how to be a fair player. Like with some people they don’t like it when they lose, they just can’t take losing but when they lose they get upset but if they won they would probably brag that they won even though they don’t like it when it happens to them but there has to be a loser and a winner.

Sports are important because you need exercises like hockey you need to control the ball and get down low to control the ball more and with tennis, you need to hit the ball over a certain point and in a certain spot so you need muscles for tennis to hit a ball in a certain spot and certain hight.

Taking part in sports is not only important for fitness and staying healthy it can help with your growth but it hasn’t helped me but it does for everyone else but it still has worked for me though a little bit like a little little bit.

Playing a sport requires a lot of time and energy. Most sports require you to attend training as well.

There are also many benefits to playing sports. I am going to tell you some of the main benefits. The first being Better sleep. Another benefit is a strong heart. Your heart needs exercise to keep it fit and healthy,  so it can pump the blood through your body.

Sport can make you interact with people from other communities, cultures, and beliefs. Which can make you meet new friends that you may have not met otherwise. Your lungs also benefit from sport. It improves your lung function.

Sport can also help boost your confidence. When you play sport it also helps clear your mind of any worries you may have, as you are so focused on your sport you forget about everything else.

Children who play sports develop stronger bones and muscles, leading to a smaller chance of injury.

I hope i have given you a lot of useful information on why sport is important for you and your body. And remember winter sport is nearly over, so why not sign up to one of the summer sports offered here and I bet you won’t regret it.

Is our creek healthy?

For this week our class went down to the creek just down the road from school to see if our creek is healthy. What I liked about doing this was going in the creek. What I didn't like about doing this was running back to get the oranges and the gumboots hitting my legs and making mine sore.
